Bikram Yoga is a sequence of 26 postures (asanas), practiced for 90 minutes in a hot yoga room. Increased room temperature aids to warm your muscles and increase flexibility of your body tissues, allowing for deeper stretches and aiding to prevent injury. Toxins can be released through breathing and your skin by sweating. The end result is an amazing feeling of mental and physical well-being and relaxation.
Find a class that fits your life. We offer classes 7 days a week.
Your breathing patterns are directly related to your state of mind.
As Bikram says, "Yoga class is a gas station, it gives you energy."
Set your intention every class to focus on the dialogue and your breath.
I cannot begin to tell you how passionately I feel about the benefits of Bikram Yoga. I started practicing Bikram Yoga a few years ago. At first, I was not consistent with my practice. I took part in and even completed a few 30 day challenges, as well as some drop in classes. I think back, and realize that during these phases where I would attend yoga classes, my quality of life was improved. However, I didn't realize at the time that it was the yoga that was benefiting me so greatly.
BIKRAM YOGA is the best medicine in the whole world for physical and psychological pain. I have been practicing this amazing form of yoga since 2009 and I THANK GOD EACH DAY THAT I AM SO LUCKY that there is a Bikram Yoga Studio close to my house that I can even walk to. It has healed me inside and out and helped me change my lifestyle. I do not to know where to start as I have so much to say.
I am 53 years old and have been diabetic since I was 30. Three months after starting Bikram Yoga, my blood sugars began to normalize for the first time in years, with no change in medication or diet. We have been going now for 9 months and I must confess that I feel better than I have ever felt. I have not lost a lot of weight, but I have lost two sizes. I am grateful that there is a studio so close to us. It is airy, clean, organized and the people are wonderful. Thank you Mak!
